A DIVERSION ON "BERNADINE"

Bernadine at the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum's First Annual Hot Rod show in the fall of 1958.

It has been gratifying to receive all the comments and suggestions from those of you interested in the restoration and rebuild of the 1929 Ford Model A Mutt Rod "Bernadine". Our founder Rick Kennell inherited the car with the passing of his father, Chuck Kennell in February of 2007. In Chuck's honor, we are documenting the restoration and rebuild with photos and step-by-step commentary here: MUTT ROD RESTORATION. A photo only gallery of the restoration is HERE. Tthere are automotive parts leftover in the Chuck Kennell inventory which were not used in the restoration of "Bernadine" which are for sale. There is a partial listing of the PARTS HERE, and please note that the six Stromberg 97 Carbs along with Chuck's handcrafted manifold have already been sold. There is an original article from the Wayndaler magazine on "Bernadine" from 1958 here: Waynedaler Article 1958. For those interested in more recent articles, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette is here: JOURNAL GAZETTE ARTICLE and the News Sentinel article is here: NEWS SENTINEL, We had a very successful MUDDY RIVER RUN with the initial debut of "Bernadine" in the midwest, where we picked up a SPECIAL CHOICE AWARD among the field of 436 cars. Thanks to the board and the volunteers at Muddy River Run for the award and for raising money for such a worthwhile charity.

BERNADINE FEATURED IN APRIL ISSUE OF "CAR KULTURE DELUXE"

kl;'

Kudos go out to Alan Mayes of Car Kulture Deluxe for publishing an article on "Bernadine" for the upcoming April Issue. Our 1929 Ford restoration project is featured on page 88, and the issue is due on the newsstands the first week of March. The article features photos of Bernadine by pin up photographer extraordinaire Viva Van Story. Rick submitted a draft of the story to Alan, who found - that with some shortening and editing - the flow and form of the story was acceptable for publication. Alan even gave Rick the "By Line" in the magazine for his efforts in writing the story. The magazine is known as being "Not your old man's car magazine" and features pin up babes and fashion features along with the classic rods and custom cars. Car Kulture Deluxe does not put stories up on their website, so you have to pick up the isssue if you want to see and read about it.

PAUL REED SMITH BASS #11 - VINTAGE GUITAR MAGAZINE

A hearty special thanks goes out to Willie Moseley, Senior Writer at Vintage Guitar Magazine, for allowing us to post a copy of the article he wrote on Rick Kennell's PRS Bass Guitar, serial number #11. Also a special thanks to Whitney Lane for the photographs, and we have posted a few new ones here as well, including Rick's collection of basses, with commentary: PRS BASS GUITAR #11

FLOWERS? LOOK CLOSELY AND BE AMAZED!

These stunning illusions are created through the use of cleverly laid out bodies painted in different colors. You’ll find it hard not to be amazed and inspired by these images! Special thanks to Cecelia Webber,
